Be Safe This Summer
According to the National Weather Service, there are typically 1,200 tornadoes and 12,000 reports of wind and hail in the United States. Along with dangers of wild fires, floods rip currents, extreme heat and lightning, summer isn’t just backyard BBQ’s and vacations.
It’s great to be prepared for severe summer weather and to prepare young kids also. Do you or your children know how to get out of a rip current? Do they know to get out of the water during a lightning storm?
The National Weather Service has a great program for kids to learn about different weather and how to prepare and they can even earn a Young Meteorologists Certificate. Click here to visit the NWS site.
